On Wednesday, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit headed by Nakalema directed Abid Alam to record a statement at Kasanda Police Station. Col Edith Nakalema, the head of the unit said the businessman was handed over to police abid alam to record statements regarding allegations that a group of people attached to him gang raped a woman, destroyed banana plantations, robbed property and battered residents of Bukoba and Bukompe villages, among others.
Earlier, Nakalema had directed Abid Alam to report to Kassanda Police Station to record a statement over violence and torture meted out to locals by his employees in an incident over the weekend that saw homes and plantations destroyed at Bukompe village in Kassanda district.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), has dropped charges against three police officers who were two months ago, charged alongside city businessman Abid Alam for allegedly conniving to obstruct the course of justice in regard to Kassanda land violence.
According to the Catherine Bamugemereire led commission of inquiry commission into land matters, Alam is under investigation for possible prosecution for murder, assault and grievous harm, inciting violence, disobedience of lawful orders and unlawful destruction of property, among others, relating to violent evictions in Mubende district.

Abim, who sought bail citing his ill health was arrested by the State House Anti-corruption Unit and remanded to Kitalya government prison on charges of conspiring with four police officers to defeat the course of justice by unlawfully releasing confidential information regarding a case file in which he was a prime suspect.
As regards the players, who have tested positive, we will continue to monitor and support them, including conducting antibody tests, and as soon as they test negative, they will be flown to join the squad in England. Notably, a player support personnel Malang Ali (masseur) also tested positive for coronavirus.
Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday confirmed that a further seven players and a support personnel including Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Hafeez were tested positive for the virus. The magistrate instead issued another production warrant directing prisons to bring Abid Alam to court on May 4, 2020.

Abid Alam was not in court and his lawyers said he was not in a stable health condition. The players include Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hasnain, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, Imran Khan. But the same land is allegedly claimed by Abid Alam.
Head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and batting coach Younis Khan also tested negative. The players and player support personnel, who have tested positive in pre-departure testing, will observe self-isolation in their homes and will undergo further testing. The Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday released a statement saying that Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Haider Ali contracted the new coronavirus after being tested in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
